Broken Bay Oysters

Broken Bay Oysters Assoc. was formed by the remaining farmers that stayed on the Hawkesbury River after the devastating effects of the QX outbreak that wiped out the Sydney Rock Oyster in the river in 2004.

Our code of conduct

BBO members have agreed on a code of conduct and farm in accordance to the NSW Oyster Industry Sustainable Aquaculture Strategy. BBO has been recognised for their stewardship of the river in receiving numerous awards for their environmental contribution to the Hawkesbury River.
