Bluetongue Brewery was founded in 2003 by four Hunter based entrepreneurs who had a combined passion for creating great tasting, premium beer from their local region. The need to build a new brewery was identified after the original production site at Cameron Park was outgrown. Bluetongue Brewery at Warnervale commenced brewing in June 2010.
The brewery includes the latest state-of-the-art brewing and packaging technology, capable of producing both Australian and International beers in various packaging formats.
During construction, $80 million of the $120 million project budget was spent in Australia with $40 million of this amount being directly spent in the Hunter and Central Coast regions. Bluetongue Brewery can proudly boast to be the first major brewery opened in NSW for 40 years.
The brewery hopes to operate as a major tourist attraction in the region in future years.
